Lectures in March and April 2023 at universities

During March and April, we prepared 7 lectures at universities. All lectures were led by members of the Slovak Compliance Circle.

At the Faculty of Economic Informatics of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Tibor Baniar and Eva Kianicová from Asset Management Slovenská sporiteľna presented to students ethics as a business concept, compared ethics and law as systems, and talked about ESG. In the second lecture, Marcel Mikolášik from VšZP presented selected problems of the application of ethical principles in the financial market and also talked about cases of failure of ethics in the financial market. The third lecture at this faculty was prepared by Martin Podkonický from Jaguar Land Rover and he discussed ethical dilemmas in the accounting, auditing and tax profession with the students.

At the Faculty of Commerce of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Tibor Baniar from Asset Management Slovenská sporiteľna presented the Social Responsibility of International Companies. He spoke to the students about compliance as a basis for corporate culture and responsible business. Using examples, he showed why the responsible behavior of companies is not only ethical, but brings benefits for the whole society.

We prepared two lectures for ERASMUS students for the Faculty of Management of the Comenius University in Bratislava. Lucia Rosiarová from Swiss Re presented the topic of Managerial integrity and ethical leadership and Martin Jacko from LGP led the discussion on the topic Ethical dilemmas and ethical decision-making process in commercial organization.

At the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Martin Sasinek from Mercedes-Benz told the students about the compliance officer’s perspective on ethical dilemmas during an investigation in a private company. Students also solved a case study on the given topic.
